What Is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is a modality that we use in which we are able to feed back to the brain its own state of regulation in real time. By doing this, it allows the brain to “learn” how to stay in a more regulated state and move in and out of different states successfully.
What Can Neurofeedback Help?
There are many types of challenges that can be improved using neurofeedback including behavioral issues, ADHD, ASD, SPD, and Anxiety to name a few. These types of challenges can be difficult to remediate in other settings, but using neurofeedback is very effective.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
That depends on the challenges you are trying to remediate. We begin with a commitment of 10 weeks, 20 sessions completed 2x/week. This is a starting point and most clients will need more depending on the severity of their symptoms.
Do the Effects of Neurofeedback Last?
Yes, because the brain is “learning” how to become more regulated, and therefore, more functional. This learning is permanent, however, new challenges may emerge as a result of growth, changes in circumstances, more challenges as the child becomes older.
